PHP MySQL Web Application Developer
Do you have solid experience and/or cutting-edge talents along with, of course, a great personality? We’re looking for someone to work on a couple of projects that may quickly turn into a full-time position.
This is an extremely fast-paced, multi-tasking environment where priorities change by the hour and personal initiative, creativity and organization are highly desirable. In addition to our strategy, marketing, SEO, and PR coaching services as well as our comprehensive graphic design and print production team, we handle the customized design, development, and hosting of over 250 Web sites for clients across town, the country and the globe. You will rarely, if ever, work on the same project for 8 hours in a row. If this sounds interesting, please read on.
Requirements:
- Handwritten coders only. We are looking for someone who does not depend on Dreamweaver, Joomla, Drupal, CodeIgniter, Wordpress, Symfony (insert frameworks / WYSISYG's / CMS's here) to build Web sites and can complete a project start to finish with a Web server, database server and a text editor. Use of Firebug does not count against you. (These platforms may be used occasionally based on client need/desire, however, we do not rely upon them.)
- Flexibility with respect to approach is a must. Our coding standards and methodologies support our team's approach to coding. New ideas and innovations are welcome, and you need to know that we work in a team environment. It saves our clients time and money....and, it's more fun!
- Proven experience in building mobile-friendly Web sites and mobile applications.
- For Senior Developer: 4+ years of experience in PHP 5, MySQL 5. 3+ years of experience in XHTML2, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX. Must be highly competent to hit the ground running.
- For Junior Devleoper: 1+ year of experience programming in any language or a bachelor's degree in ComSci, CprE, MIS, etc. Exposure to SQL a plus. An open mind and a passion to learn a must.
Nice to haves:
- Flash/Flex experience
- Gentoo experience
- Command-Line Linux administration
- Windows Server administration
- Apache, wget, rsync, ssh, cron, mysqld, cp, cat, etc.
- Fascination with cloud computing/what the industry is doing/wow look at this site!!/etc. An eye for the future
- Plays well with both designers and marketing people. Can talk with strangers.
- Likes cats (We currently have two rescue cats living at RCS.)
