I love Inside the Actors Studio, that BravoTV program with host James Lipton who asks actors questions developed by Bernard Pivot. The questions seem irrelevant but get terrific information out of the people asked.
So here’s what I think would happen if Lipton asked me some of Pivot’s weird questions:
Lipton: What is your favorite word?
Tyree: Rumspringa (no, I’m not Amish)
Lipton: What is your least favorite word?
Tyree: No (I am in sales, after all)
Lipton: What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Tyree: Generosity, great design, strong woman role models, children’s honesty, my friends
Lipton: What turns you off?
Tyree: Mean people
Lipton: What is your favorite curse word?
Lipton: What sound or noise do you love?
Tyree: 80s music
Lipton: What sound or noise do you hate?
Tyree: Anything before 9 a.m.
Lipton: What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Tyree: Interior design or trust fund baby
Lipton: What profession would you not like to do?
Tyree: Anything monotonous
Lipton: If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
Tyree: Thanks for being a good egg!
Now you know me better, but here’s some more background anyway. I started my career in 1988 at The Kansas City Star in the composing room, laying out the sports pages and ads for BrandsMart (RIP). Then I moved into the real estate sales department, calling on builders, developers and realtors, until this year.
I did take a brief break from the Star in 2001-2002 when I moved to Chicago to work at SBC Communications. I took a ferry to work each day – super cool.
For recreation, I’m raising my 6-year-old niece, Olivia (The Bean). I’m also an interior design junkie, a shopping guru, a great baker and a “sew-sew” seamstress (even so, I do love to sew and quilt).
I’m thrilled to be a part of the River City Studio crew. And I’m looking forward to meeting new people and convincing them to say, “Yes.”
