About Marie
Marie lives by a few mottos: Have a good hand shake; never go to the grocery store hungry; never buy off-brand ketchup, peanut butter or tooth paste; only one gift is opened on Christmas Eve; know how to talk sports; a good mix tape will get you through any day.
A Kansas City native, Marie remembers fondly watching her mother paint, trips to the family farm to cross creeks and pick up snake skins, bike rides to the neighborhood park when it was acceptable to only come inside at mealtimes and making slip 'n' slides in the front yard.
These days, Marie loves to make hand-made things instead of paying for them, antiquing obsessively, trying her hand at blogging, trying new things with her hair and posting to Pinterest as much as possible. She can be spotted every Saturday morning at the Kansas City Farmers Market buying local fresh veggies and maybe stopping for a Gyro with the Mister for lunch, or at English Landing park in Parkville at sunset along the two-mile trail that runs right next to the Missouri River. Marie has also tried to take up golf (because the Mister plays) in the last few years but still...isn't any good and so will refrain from exposing where she plays, for now.
Marie came to River City Studio in the fall of ’06 as an intern and was thrilled when she was asked to stay. With a BFA in graphic design from Avila University, she is known for testing her clients "progressiveness." She is endlessly searching, gathering (rather, hoarding) for inspiration online and in books, magazines, fashion or whatever grabs her attention. Marie also helps take care of the office kitty, Melia, and gives shoe and fashion advice when someone wants to listen.
